Effects of dynamic soil-structure interaction on seismic behaviour of high-rise buildings

It is conventional to assume that the role of soil-structure interaction (SSI) beneficial buildings under seismic loading. However, lessons learned from recent earthquakes revealed this assumption could be misleading, and SSI may have different effects on response structural systems. In study, an enhanced numerical model developed verified using ABAQUS software assess impact high-rise frame-core tube structures. The responses 20, 30, 40-storey constructed soil class Ee (according Australian Standards) four earthquake acceleration records been studied. results in terms maximum lateral deflections, foundation rocking, inter-storey drifts storey shear forces for rigid base flexible structures discussed compared. Generally, has a remarkable behaviour since it can increase deflections decrease worth noting systems near far field are considerably different.
